Not only does it allow me to use my HT while mobile, but placing it on any large metal surface allows me to hit more repeaters from my home. When I am at work (church), I place the Nagoya UT-308 on the metal church roof, just above my office window, and have no problem hitting repeaters over 30 miles away. I would recommend this antenna to anyone looking to extend the range of their HT radio.
